Splinter Reeds, formed in 2013, is a reed quintet explicitly committed to the cutting edge of contemporary composition. They work closely with composers such as Amadeus Regucera, Eric Wubbels, Sky Macklay, Paula Matthusen, Marc Mellits, Michael Gordon and Ken Ueno, and have presented North American premieres by European composers including Dai Fujikura, Matthew Shlomowitz, and Yannis Kyriakides.
